The T12 Cruiser: Handcrafted 12-Inch Wooden Toy Sailboat

The Tippecanoe Boats T12 Cruiser is a high-performance, 12-inch toy sailboat built with the same craftsmanship as our larger vessels. Featuring a traditional Western Red Cedar hull, a stainless steel keel plate, and a solid zinc ballast casting, this model is designed for speed and stability. Like all Tippecanoe toy sailboats, the T12 really sails!

Though it is the smallest in our fleet, the T12 Cruiser is engineered to sail straight and fast. It is at home in any body of water—from a relaxing session in a swimming pool or hot tub to racing across ponds and lakes. Because of its weighted keel, the T12 is completely self-righting and virtually unsinkable. Even if placed in the water upside down, this wooden sailboat will instantly flip upright and sail off!

Sailing Your T12 Model Boat

In smaller ponds, you can race your T12 sailboat from shore to shore. For larger lakes or bays, use our Boat Reel to maintain control from the beach. Simply attach a line to the bow to watch your boat sail out; with a quick tug, the boat tacks and sails back to you. On calm days, let your model boat sail free while you follow along in a canoe or kayak.

Available as a Finished Boat or DIY Kit

The T12 Cruiser is available in two versions:

• Finished Sailboats: These arrive fully assembled and beautifully finished with high-quality marine varnish, ready to hit the water immediately.

• Sailboat Kits: Our DIY boat kits include all necessary parts and easy-to-follow instructions for a fun, 30–45 minute assembly. Building a kit is a creative, meaningful experience to share with someone special. (Note: Paint or varnish sold separately).
