Pre-Formed Carbon Fiber Hull vs. Traditional Wood Planking

If you want the thrill of building a massive, fast RC sailboat without the time-consuming process of building a hull from scratch, this carbon fiber kit is the perfect solution.

• The T50 Carbon Fiber Edition: Arrives with a lightweight, ultra-strong, pre-formed carbon fiber hull. The pristine black carbon fiber is paired with a beautiful, pre-cut Okoume mahogany deck that stretches unbroken from bow to stern.

• The Original T50 Edition: If you prefer the craftsmanship of traditional woodworking, our standard T50 Racing Sloop features a cedar-strip planked hull. While planking a hull is fun and easy, the Carbon Fiber edition is the ideal alternative if you want to skip the hull-planking step and jump straight into rigging.

While building the T50 is more involved than our smaller T27 and T37 model boat kits, our meticulously detailed, step-by-step instructions guide you smoothly through the entire assembly process. No detail is left out.

This premium model yacht kit includes everything required to build a fully operational, radio-controlled sailboat—just add your choice of marine varnish/paint and AA batteries:

• Hull & Deck: Pre-formed, lightweight carbon fiber hull, pre-cut 3-ply Okoume mahogany deck, and matching mahogany transom.

• Spars & Rigging: High-strength carbon fiber mast and booms, stainless steel rigging wire, and premium Spectra rigging lines.

• Premium Hardware: Marine-grade brass and stainless steel deck hardware.

• Electronics & RC Gear: Full 2.4GHz radio control system (transmitter and receiver), rudder servo, battery box, and the ultra-powerful Hi-Tec 785 drum winch sail servo to easily haul in massive sail areas in heavy winds.

• Assembly Supplies: Marine-grade epoxy, epoxy brushes, gloves, measuring syringes, and detailed instructions.

Versatile Sail Areas & Quick-Change Modular Jib System

The T50 package includes a mainsail plus three different jib sails (large, medium, and small) to adapt to light, medium, and heavy air conditions. This allows you to adjust your total sail area from a powerful 1,200 square inches down to 625 square inches depending on the day's wind.

To make changing sails effortless on the water, the kit features an innovative modular jib system. We provide a separate, dedicated forestay and jib boom for all three jibs. During the building phase, you will assemble each jib as its own standalone, fully rigged unit. Once completed, swapping sizes on the shoreline is a simple, plug-and-play process—just clip the entire self-contained jib assembly directly into place without sharing hardware between sails.

We offer two distinct sail cloth configurations to match your performance needs:

• Standard Nylon Spinnaker Sails: Crafted from lightweight, high-performance 3/4 oz. nylon spinnaker cloth for excellent aerodynamic lift and durability. This setup includes a White mainsail, a White large jib, a Blue medium jib, and a Blue small jib.

• Upgraded Paneled Mylar Sails: Designed for competitive skipper racing, this premium upgrade offers maximum draft control and optimal sail shape retention. This setup includes a high-tech Paneled Mylar mainsail and a Paneled Mylar large jib, while the medium and small jibs remain the vibrant Blue nylon spinnaker cloth.
