In light to medium air, the T39 is a terrific competitor, capable of outperforming modern composite boats like the DragonFlite 95 (DF95). While the DF95 is a strong contender, the T39's 56-inch tall rig and specialized hull geometry give it a distinct advantage when the breeze is faint. While most boats would have been reduced to splinters, the T37 survived the encounter. After a few minor repairs to the deck and hardware, the boat was back on the water sailing as beautifully as ever. It is practically indestructible.
